The owners of this house wanted to bring the vast, expansiveness of nature indoors and into their home. In order to help preserve this feeling, choosing the right furniture was crucial.

The high ceilings and windows provide lots of light and a maximum feeling of spaciousness in this home. The cast floor creates unity and offers a beautiful contrast to the warm and cosy atmosphere evoked by the wood walls and smoked oak. Master interior decorator Isabelle collaborated with the Antwerp interior design firm studio8 on the interior design.

The choice was made for a Cassina Moov sofa in the room with the fireplace at the back. Piero Lissoni’s light and airy design guarantees maximum transparency, affording a gorgeous view out over the fields and green landscape behind the house.

By contrast, for the adjacent television corner which is separated from the space by a wood wall and a lower ceiling, the choice was made for the space-filling Linteloo Hamptons. The comfortable cushions add an extra cosy accent, and the light colour of the sofa offers a nice contrast with the wood walls in the room.

Earthy and warm, just like nature

The robust e15 Fayland table was originally designed for a project in the English countryside. This makes it perfect for emphasising the nature that is ever-present in the setting, and to add an earthy and warm character to the entire room. The airy Vitra Wire Chairs give it a playful and open feeling.

The open Rimadesio Wind cabinet was placed opposite the Fayland so that the gorgeous natural walls would remain visible. A fresh pallet is created by filling the cabinet with objects in soft colours.

Finally, a Vitra Guéridon table has been placed in the breakfast nook. The strong modern forms of this round table with its characteristic legs ensure an optimal view from various positions, guaranteeing continuous enjoyment of  nature. It also offers a sufficient counterbalance to the kitchen, which features smoked oak and a concrete worktop.
