Thursday evening November 17, Piero Lissoni, the legendary Italian designer and architect, presents the new Knoll Avio Sofa in our showroom. With his latest design, Lissono has taken the next step in modular furniture.

The Avio's basis is a steel supporting structure, fitted with anchor points to support seats, backrests and tables. The great flexibility of this innovative approach provides an almost endless number of configurations, from two-, three- and four-seater sofas to chaise longues and combinations with tabletops.

Perfectly in balance

For his design, Lissoni started from his characteristic aesthetically driven research. The functionality and the pure beauty of the sofa are in perfect balance.

The Avio blends perfectly into different settings thanks to its light structure. Cushions are available in various thicknesses and both in a wide range of fabrics and in Spinneybeck leather. All of this makes the Avio a solid, elegant sofa, guaranteeing a comfortable and relaxed lifestyle.

On the Knoll website, Piero Lissoni himself looks back on the process of creation with a sense of satisfaction. “This is a true industrial project, of great complexity. It is based on the idea of a structural steel beam that through a series of brackets supports different parts for diversified use. In practice, this is a product that changes the traditional idea of upholstered furniture. It does so in taking the form of a technological and aesthetic alphabet to assemble in different compositions, for different needs.”
