A stray ice floe with a polar bear resting on top. Pack by Edra is an ecological statement as well as an artistic and sumptuous sofa. This coming autumn you will be able to try it out for yourself in our showroom.

Today the Greek word ‘έδρα’ is briefly translated as 'chair' but originally meant 'a place for philosophical debate'. With the new Pack sofa, designed by Francesco Binfaré, the Italian design brand was already the talk of the town at the recent Salone del Mobile in Milan.

The basis of Pack is formed by an irregular shaped ice floe. It is covered in a special fabric with a texture that makes you feel as though you are sitting - very comfortably - on ice. Behind you a polar bear lies snoozing on his side, a handy support, covered with animal-friendly 'fur'.

Movable polar bear support

Thanks to its weight and the anti-slip leather underneath, the polar bear is movable. You can choose between sitting with very little depth or relaxing with lots of depth. This means several people can sit on Pack at the same time, even in opposite directions.
