Cassina LC Pampas

To pay tribute to South American influences in the work of Le Corbusier, Cassina de Pampas presents limited editions of the LC1 armchair and LC4 chaise longue. You can find these unique items in our showroom!

Le Corbusier and Charlotte Perriand embarked on several trips through South America. Their contacts with the local culture appeared to be highly productive in the development of Modernism. Le Corbusier fell in love with Argentina, where he gave several lectures in the capital Buenos Aires and designed a house for Doctor Curutchet in the provincial capital, La Plata.

Hommage to the pampas

In homage to a continent that gave so much to Le Corbusier and Perriand, Cassina is relaunching its LC1 and LC4 as a Pampas limited edition. The pampas are the fertile grasslands in the south of South America where the gauchos, the Argentinean cowboys, feel right at home. The word originates from Quecha and means ‘plain’.

The limited edition LC1 Pampas armchair and LC4 Pampas chaise longue are covered in precious, high quality South American hides. The characteristic, brindled patterns make each piece unique. Just four hundred examples of the LC1 Pampas and the LC4 Pampas have been produced, one of each can be found in our showroom. View the photos provided below or come and admire them first-hand, as well as other furniture masterpieces in our Master Gallery.
