Le Corbusier celebrated by Réaction Poètique

Le Corbusier passed away fifty years ago but his artistic legacy is still inspiring today. Spanish designer Jaime Hayón made Réaction Poètique, a collection of four centerpieces, a tray and two side tables, for Cassina. Each piece is built from solid ash wood and stained black, emphasizing the organic shapes which were influenced by Le Corbusier’s work.

“I wanted to create useful objects for the modern home such as trays and side tables, but with sculptural elements, interplaying forms, light and shadow”, said Hayón. “It was a challenge to use only one material and one finish. I feel this restriction actually became an opportunity to showcase the beauty of the wood.”
