The French brothers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec have designed an outdoor collection for the Danish brand Hay. Palissade comprises high and low tables, chairs, loungers and benches.

The general public may not yet be as familiar with their names as it is with those of Charles and Ray Eames, Piero Lissoni or Patricia Urquiola. However, in recent years Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec have brought the design world new insights into materials and the use of their products. The French brothers have been designing from their Bouroullec Design Studio since 1999. They have already collaborated with, for example, Flos, Ligne Roset and – above all - Vitra.

In the past, designs by the Bouroullecs have included home and office furniture, vases, porcelain dinner services, jewellery and diverse home accessories. The brothers describe their new Palissade outdoor collection for Hay as “robust but not cumbersome, elegant but not fragile”. The 13 different pieces of furniture have been designed so that they come into their own in various settings, from restaurants to gardens and balconies. Thanks to their curved slats, air and water can effortlessly flow through the anatomically designed pieces.
