Televisions today are often large, flat wall-mounted screens since the frame is often not included. The Bouroullec brothers approached the television differently and designed the Samsung Serif TV, a nice looking piece of furniture for the modern living room.

The Samsung Serif TV stands out and that is exactly the intention. The frame is shaped as a stylish capital I with serif when looked upon from the side. Serifs are the strokes at the ends of letters.

Serif letters already occurred in the works of ancient Rome. Thanks to their elegant and strong appearance, they are still used in books and newspapers,  things which are allowed to be read and seen.

With the flat screen but extended flat top and bottom, you just cannot hang the Samsung Serif TV against the wall. This is a complete piece of furniture which claims its spot in your interior, resting on a table, a cabinet or on its own frame. Even the backside is unique. The Bouroullecs designed a fabric panel that holds all cables and connectors in place.

Serif TV Curtain Mode

The fabric panel reflects the Curtain Mode of the Serif TV. This is a complete adjustable digital filter that covers your screen. In this way only abstract images are shown. As an 'emotional television screen' the Serif TV adapts itself even better to the surrounding.

Also the televison interface, based on the Tizen operating system of Samsung, and the remote control have been completely revised by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec. The Serif TV is no longer a television but a meaningful device for the world we live in.

The Samsung Serif TV is available in three sizes (40", 32" and 24") and in three colours (ivory white, dark blue and red). The Bouroullec Brothers chose these because they stand out and dare to attract attention. You find the Serif TV exclusively in the Master Meubel showroom.
